Empowering Youth to Live Boldly for Christ
At Houston International SDA Church (HISDA), our youth are not the church of tomorrow—they are an active, vibrant part of the church today. With members representing 35+ nations, HISDA has a thriving youth community that is passionate about spiritual growth, service, and connection.
AY Mission Statement
“The Adventist Youth Ministries of the Seventh-day Adventist Church aim to lead young people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and help them embrace His call to discipleship.”
We exist to mentor and equip young people to grow spiritually, serve faithfully, and lead courageously in their homes, churches, and communities.
A Vibrant and Growing Youth Community
Many youth at Houston International Church are deeply engaged in:
• Spiritual study and leadership, with young people regularly leading in prayer, preaching, and worship
• Biweekly AY Vespers, featuring uplifting worship and relevant social activities that foster fellowship and faith
• Service & outreach, including care package drives, mission-focused evangelism, and urban ministry in our own neighborhoods
• Conference-led youth events like ENGAGE, Global Youth Day, and Pathfinder/Adventurer initiatives
• Creative expression, from music and drama to spoken word and multimedia presentations
Living Faith in Action
In 2025, during the Global Youth Week of Prayer, HISDA youth led a weeklong journey of preaching, teaching, and serving. Youth speakers tackled powerful themes such as:
• Reaching unreached people groups with the gospel
• Overcoming cultural barriers in ministry
• Finding purpose in your present location
• Embracing diverse communities with Christ’s love
A highlight was the Youth Grand Homecoming Sabbath, with passionate music, dynamic preaching, and altar calls that touched hearts and changed lives—including one young man who chose to commit his life to Christ and begin Bible studies.
Building Brotherhood and Character
At HISDA, we believe in nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. The Adventist Youth Ministry offers a variety of activities that promote teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and strong character development in a fun and faith-centered environment.
Our youth actively participate in:
• Basketball – Competing in the Houston Area SDA Youth Basketball League, our team played with passion and sportsmanship, building discipline and unity.
• Softball – A great way to bond and stay active, youth engage in friendly games and tournaments that promote teamwork and fellowship.
• Game Nights & Socials – Opportunities to relax, connect, and grow friendships in a positive, supervised setting.
• Retreats & Campouts – Spiritual renewal in nature, building trust and deeper relationships with one another and with God.
These programs aren’t just about activity—they’re about identity, integrity, and influence. Through shared experiences, our youth grow in confidence, build lasting friendships, and learn what it means to represent Christ both on and off the field.
