Serving the Community

Jesus gave us an example to serve. We take it to heart! At a recent Global Youth Day event, the church came together to pack 450 care bags for the Star of Hope shelter which takes in homeless men, women, and children. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:35-36, “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.” In this parable, He let us know that when we take care of anyone, we have done a good work for God. Whether it’s one person, like Jesus healing the paralyzed man at the pool in Bethesda, or taking care of many, like when Jesus told the disciples to feed the 5000+ people, we can take the time to be the difference in someone’s life. That is what living like Jesus and being a community is all about. Let’s follow Jesus’s example to serve!
